The delegation, which was led by Rui Wei, head of the CRI’s representative office in Vietnam, was received by Thuan Huu, member of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Editor-in-chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, deputy head of the PCC’s Communication and Education Commission, and chairman of the Vietnam Journalists' Association.
At the meeting, Rui Wei thanked Nhan Dan Editor-in-chief Thuan Huu and Nhan Dan representative office in Beijing for creating favourable conditions for promoting cooperation between the two press agencies.
Rui Wei emphasised that the establishment of the CRI's representative office in Vietnam demonstrated that China attaches great importance to its relationship with Vietnam. He noted that the CRI's representative office will take charge of providing prompt and accurate information on Vietnam for the Chinese people.
The head of the CRI's representative office in Vietnam expressed his wish that the representative office and Nhan Dan newspaper will boost bilateral cooperation and exchanges of information and professional work.
Nhan Dan Editor-in-chief Thuan Huu spoke highly of the presence of CRI's representative office in Vietnam. He hoped that Nhan Dan newspaper, particularly its online Chinese version, and CRI's representative office in Vietnam will carry out further cooperation activities including the exchanges of delegations, information, and professional knowledge.
The two sides also discussed the relations between the press agencies of the two countries and field of operation of the CRI's office in Vietnam in future.
