Delegations from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City pay tribute to Presidents Ho Chi Minh and Ton Duc Thang

On August 23, the delegations of the Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, led by Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Municipal Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong and Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Phuoc Loc, respectively, offered incense and flowers in commemoration of President Ho Chi Minh and President Ton Duc Thang.

This activity is part of the "Hanoi Days in Ho Chi Minh City" programme, commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Capital's Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - 2024).

The delegations laid flowers in memory of President Ho Chi Minh at the President Ho Chi Minh Statue Park and offered incense at the Ho Chi Minh Museum - Ho Chi Minh City branch. The delegates observed a moment of silence commemorating President Ho Chi Minh, the Hero of National Liberation, a World Cultural Figure, and an exemplary international communist who devoted his entire life to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.

Following this, the members of the delegations visited a special exhibition themed “The names, aliases, and pen names of President Ho Chi Minh” at the Ho Chi Museum - Ho Chi Minh City branch. The exhibition introduces 182 names, aliases, and pen names, used by President Ho Chi Minh.

Later in the morning of August 23, the members of the delegations offered flowers and incense, to pay respect to President Ton Duc Thang at the Ton Duc Thang Museum. The delegates observed a moment of silence in memory of President Ton Duc Thang, a leader of the working class, an example of the qualities of diligence, thrift, integrity, and dedication to the revolution and the people.

The delegates also visited the special exhibition themed “Ba Son - The Timeline”, co-organised by the Ton Duc Thang Museum and the Ba Son Corporation, in celebration of the 136th anniversary of President Ton Duc Thang’s birth (August 20) and in anticipation of the 100th anniversary of Ba Son's tradition (August 4, 1925).

The exhibition features 180 documents and artefacts that provide an overview of the formation and development of Ba Son, helping the public understand the growth of the shipbuilding industry and the Ba Son workers' movement in the struggle for national liberation, particularly the role of President Ton Duc Thang.
