Vice President offers incense to late President Ton Duc Thang

Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan on August 17 offered incense to late President Ton Duc Thang at his memorial site in My Hoa Hung Commune, Long Xuyen City, An Giang Province, on the occasion of his 136th birth anniversary.

The Vice President held a moment of silence to commemorate the late President and review his life and career as an exemplary leader and communist who devoted his whole life to the cause of national liberation, construction, and defence.

Ton Duc Thang was born in 1888 in Long Xuyen Province, now An Giang Province. He dedicated 70 years to revolutionary activities, with 27 years as President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and more than 10 years as President of Vietnam.

With such great contributions, Ton Duc Thang was the first person to be honoured with Gold Star Order in addition to Lenin Order and Lenin Prize for Peace and Friendship among Nations and many other noble awards and titles.

On the occasion, Vice President Xuan presented 30 gifts to policy beneficiary families in My Hoa Hung Commune.
