He called on the ambassador to continue bolster the bilateral cooperation, especially in climate change response, greenhouse gas emission reduction, and just energy transition.
Highly valuing Korean businesses’ attention to key transport infrastructure projects in Vietnam, the Deputy PM said this is one of the Vietnamese Government’s priorities in the coming years.
He also asked ministries, sectors, and localities to continue creating favourable conditions for Korean firms to explore investment opportunities, negotiate, and take part in transport infrastructure projects in Vietnam.
At the meeting, Ambassador Oh said the recent establishment of the Vietnam - RoK comprehensive strategic partnership has paved the way for the elevation of bilateral ties in all aspects, including economy, trade, and investment.
The RoK also wants to cooperate with Vietnam in some other fields such as supply chain guaranteeing, climate change response, digital transformation, science - technology, green economy, circular economy, and renewable energy, she said.
Specialised agencies of the RoK are willing to share experience, provide assistance, and give advice to Vietnamese partners in the formation and operation of a carbon market. They have also paid attention to and hoped to participate in major transport projects in Vietnam, help build a greenhouse gas emission allowance trading system, and partner in the mining industry, according to the diplomat.
