At the programme, held by People's Daily - the mouthpiece of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, in collaboration with relevant agencies, reporters from many countries in the region witnessed the dynamic development under the green trend of the provinces and cities in China as well as projects, models and prospects for cooperation in the fields of communications, transportation and energy among countries in the Lancang – Mekong river basin.

The delegation visited the Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (GAC Group), a Chinese state-owned automobile manufacturer headquartered in Guangzhou, Guangxi Province. Founded in 1954, the GAC Group is currently the 5th largest automobile manufacturer in China, with sales volume of 2.144 million vehicles in 2021. It produces and sells vehicles under the brands of Trumpchi, Aion and Hycan as well as joint venture brands including GAC-Toyota, GAC-Honda and GAC-Mitsubishi. The group also manufactures electric vehicles and became the fourth-largest electric vehicle manufacturer in China in 2021.

In 2016, Kunming Railway Station Depot was put into operation. China Railway Kunming Group Co., Ltd began to expand and renovate the station in October 2018. Up to now, the station increased from 6 maintenance and repair lines and 37 preservation and storage lines to 10 maintenance and repair lines and 58 preservation and storage lines. After the renovation, train operation, maintenance and storage capacity have been improved, thereby it has become the largest depot station in southwestern China.

China Southern Power Grid Company (CSG), a state-owned enterprise under the auspices of the State Council, guarantees power supply services to provinces and cities in southern China. The company connects the power grids in Hong Kong and Macau (China) and Southeast Asian countries, with a service area spanning more than 1 million square kilometers and reaching more than 272 million people. With an ever-expanding power transmission network stretching 2,000 kilometres from west to east, the CSG uses various electric energy sources such as hydroelectricity, thermal, nuclear, gas, wind and solar power. The company has been carrying out the application of modern technology and digitalisation in their management and operation of the power grid.

The Communication University of China (CUC) is one of the most important higher education institutions in China, providing comprehensive training in communications. The university is also famous as a place to incubate the talents of the broadcasting industry. The CUC is located to the east of Beijing, near the ancient canal.

Making the most of the university-owned multimedia resources, the museum provides an overview of the development of the media industry in China. Divided into transmission, radio, television and film sections, each pavilion displays an impressive collection of artifacts related to Chinese and foreign media, ranging from old recorders, phonographs, music boxes, to cameras, projectors, black and white TVs, typewriters and wireless devices.
