Lam Dong marks 50th anniversary of Bao Loc’s liberation

The Central Highlands province of Lam Dong held a ceremony on March 28 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Bao Loc.

Speaking at the event, Nghiem Xuan Duc, Deputy Secretary of Bao Loc City, stated that the city, which was formerly known as B’Lao Town, held a strategically important position during the two resistance wars against the French and Americans.

As the capital of the former Lam Dong Province, the soldiers and people of B’Lao Town persevered within enemy territory and fought valiantly to liberate Lam Dong Province.

In recognition of its achievements over the past 50 years, Bao Loc City has been honoured with the second-class Labour Order and many other state decorations.

Duc expressed his profound gratitude and immense pride at the glorious victories achieved by the armed forces and people of B’Lao.

At the ceremony, generations of officials and soldiers who worked and fought in the B’Lao Town battlefield and in the former Lam Dong Province in general, recalled the traditions of fighting, protecting and building their homeland.

For his part, Lam Dong Deputy Secretary Bui Thang conveyed his sincere appreciation and deep gratitude to the generations of officials, soldiers and people of Bao Loc who shed countless sweat and blood to create the prosperous and beautiful Bao Loc of today.

He emphasised that today’s achievements are the crystallisation of patriotism, solidarity, perseverance, and the creative efforts of generations of officials, Party members and people of Bao Loc City.
