Expanding digital utility ecosystem on VNeID

The Government has approved the project titled “Development of the national digital identity application VNeID for the 2026–2030 Period, with a vision to 2045”, with the aim of developing VNeID into a “super app” that will serve as the central platform of the national digital ecosystem.

The Government envisions VNeID as a “super app” playing a pivotal role in the national digital ecosystem.

This is a significant strategic direction designed to maximise the value of population data, advance digital government, the digital economy, and digital society, while improving the quality of services provided to citizens and businesses. The development and deployment of VNeID, under the Government’s direction and with the Ministry of Public Security playing a leading role in implementing Project 06, has become a notable example of coordinated efforts from central to local levels.

To date, the system has issued 97 million digital identity accounts to Vietnamese citizens, 88,000 accounts to foreigners, and 851,000 accounts to organisations. Of these, more than 70 million Level-2 digital identity accounts have been activated, enabling citizens and organisations to use a single account to log in, complete administrative procedures, and access online public services.

VNeID currently provides 21 online public services, including 18 services for individuals and three for organisations. In the near future, all online public services managed by the Department of Administrative Management for Social Order (C06) are expected to be integrated into the platform.

The application has also incorporated 15 types of electronic documents, allowing users to replace physical paperwork and significantly reducing the need for information verification procedures, including confirmation of Identity Cards/Citizen Identity Cards, marital status, residence information, and household registration records.

VNeID also provides a channel for feedback, recommendations, and user satisfaction assessments regarding online public services, helping to measure service effectiveness while ensuring transparency and accountability.

The system has recorded more than three million user evaluations since September 16, 2025, averaging around 377,000 per month, with a satisfaction rate of 96.37%.

These figures demonstrate the tangible effectiveness of administrative reforms implemented through VNeID. Indicators relating to processing time and the accuracy of results have both reached very high levels.

The implementation of Project 06 has also delivered substantial outcomes, including the integration of more than 16 million data records from socio-political organisations, the cleansing of 61 million land-related data records, and over 146.6 million civil status records.
