He also acknowledged the gap between the Vietnamese women’s national football team and other world-leading women’s teams, competing in the championship.

He pledged to stand side by side with his team to make a stronger determination and gain more success at the upcoming ASIAD 19 and the qualification round of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

For the efforts of the Vietnamese players, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) awarded them a total bonus of VNĐ1.8 billion (US$75,600)

VFF Chairman Tran Quoc Tuan said: “The team didn't need to win games to get the reward. Most importantly, the efforts of each person, each player and the whole team are recognised by many people.

In addition, each team member will receive up to 30,000 USD from FIFA.

After the World Cup, the Vietnamese players will have a week off, before regrouping on August 10, ahead of the Asian Games 19 in Hangzhou, China in September and the Paris Olympic qualifiers.
