In the 68th minute, a surprise happened when the Philippines took advantage of a mistake by the Vietnamese defence. Javier Gayoso quickly fired a decisive shot, opening the scoring for the home team.

After conceding the goal, the Vietnamese players stepped up their attacks. The relentless efforts of the Vietnamese team were finally rewarded in the last minute of injury time 90+7: starting from a corner kick on the right wing, goalkeeper Deyto missed the ball, allowing Doan Ngoc Tan to excellently head the ball into the opponent’s net, bringing the 1-1 equaliser.

This result helped Vietnam officially win a ticket to the semi-finals one match early, although the top spot in the group is not yet confirmed.
