First batch of fresh lychee exported to China by rail

The batch containing three tonnes of fresh lychee was cleared at Pingxiang, China, to ship to Shanghai.

The railway sector can transport 200-300 tonnes of fresh lychee each day, from Bac Giang province to Pingxiang, China.

After being packed, it takes about 12 hours, including customs clearance time, to ship fresh lychee from Luc Ngan to Pingxiang station.

The transportation of fresh lychee to China by rail requires refrigerated containers and the implementation of customs and quarantine procedures at two border gates, in both Vietnam and China.

Luc Ngan lychee has about 17,000ha of lychee, with an estimated output of approximately 98,000 tonnes per year. Luc Ngan lychee has been exported to nearly 40 countries and territories across the world.
