The congress was attended by 250 outstanding delegates, representing more than 27,000 ethnic minorities, dignitaries, and religious followers in Vinh Long Province.
Over the past 5 years, the socio-economic situation of ethnic minority areas has continued to develop quite comprehensively. The lives of ethnic minorities have been increasingly improved.
National defence, political security, social order and safety in ethnic minority areas have been maintained and stabilised. Many outstanding collectives and individuals have emerged from the patriotic emulation movements with typical advancements in politics, economics, culture and society.
By the end of 2023, there were 301 poor ethnic minority households, accounting for 3.4% of the total number of ethnic minority households in the province. One thousand fifty-one households have been reduced, corresponding to a reduction in the poverty rate of 15.32%, an average reduction of 3.06%/year.
On this occasion, the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs and the People's Committee of Vinh Long Province commended many collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement in 2019-2024.
