Fabien Roussel noted the visit would not only symbolise both countries’ commitment to deepening bilateral friendship and cooperation, but also contribute to strengthening the historic ties between the PCF and the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV).
“The PCF and the CPV have always stood together and shared common ideals in the struggle for social justice and development. I believe that close cooperation between the two parties can further promote economic, cultural, and social exchanges, thereby contributing to the prosperity of both peoples,” Fabien Roussel stated.
Regarding Viet Nam’s achievements in recent years, the PCF leader praised the CPV’s breakthrough strategies aimed at ushering the country into a new era.
According to the PCF National Secretary, under General Secretary and President To Lam’s leadership and vision, Viet Nam has achieved robust progress, with economic growth consistently exceeding 6% – a high rate compared with many other countries.
Viet Nam’s position on the international stage has continued to consolidate. Social development has also produced impressive results, with millions of people lifted out of poverty.
In international cooperation, Viet Nam has expanded its strategic partnerships, fostering an attractive investment environment.
“These figures reflect the positive momentum driving Viet Nam’s development and affirm the importance of continuously expanding cooperative relations with countries such as France,” the PCF leader emphasised.
According to Fabien Roussel, in the period ahead, Viet Nam and France more broadly, and the two parties specifically, should champion joint initiatives such as cultural and educational projects to attract the participation and contributions of younger generations, thereby strengthening mutual understanding and friendship between the two countries’ peoples.
To strengthen relations between the CPV and the PCF in the period ahead, Fabien Roussel expressed hope for more exchanges and seminars to share information and views on unpredictable changes in the world.
On that basis, the two sides could formulate joint plans, such as organising exchange programmes for young people from the two countries and promoting joint projects in key areas such as sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, and information technology, while facilitating cooperation among associations and organisations working to foster close friendship and cooperation between France and Viet Nam.
“Such initiatives will help further promote and enrich the shared values of the two countries. These are the traditional solidarity and cooperation that have been nurtured through many stages of history,” the PCF National Secretary remarked.
