The Thai Nguyen National Assembly delegation briefed voters on the expected agenda of the upcoming session and reported on voters’ previous recommendations and responses from relevant agencies.

Voters raised a range of issues, including expanding access to social policy loans, speeding up the removal of temporary and dilapidated housing, ensuring policies for people with meritorious services, making better use of public offices following administrative mergers, and improving grassroots cultural facilities. They also called for appropriate staffing at the grassroots level based on workloads and responsibilities.

Other proposals included upgrading the information system for administrative procedures, developing a nationwide shared system, providing funding for land and forest allocation, expanding public school enrolment in mountainous areas, preserving revolutionary historical sites and addressing landslide-prone sections of major roads.

Provincial leaders addressed issues under their jurisdiction, while General Phan Van Giang acknowledged the voters’ recommendations and said the National Assembly’s upcoming session would consider a large number of draft laws, some of which would be put to public consultation.

He also highlighted developments in the international situation and Viet Nam’s foreign affairs, while noting both economic growth and challenges at home, including slow public investment disbursement and modest market purchasing power.

The minister praised the military’s contributions to removing temporary housing, building schools in border areas and implementing the 500-day campaign to search for, recover and identify martyrs’ remains.

He urged Thai Nguyen to maintain economic growth of at least 11%, improve the investment and business environment, accelerate public investment disbursement, promote science and technology, and ensure social welfare, national defence and security.

Following the meeting, General Phan Van Giang presented 50 gifts to policy beneficiary families in Bac Kan and Duc Xuan wards.
