The programme is the result of the investment of efforts, intelligence and enthusiasm of many young intellectuals who are studying, researching and working in Europe and want to show their hearts to their homeland in the current context.

To help the programme spread and attract more Vietnamese intellectuals to contribute initiatives and solutions for the current problems of the country, the National Innovation Centre (NIC) under the Ministry of Planning and Investment decided to support InnoCity’s organising board to promote wider connection with experts, organisations and enterprises in the country and abroad.

The NIC’s Director Vu Quoc Huy expressed his hope that InnoCity will receive attention and support from its partners and the social community to create a larger spillover effect and become an annual event attracting many effective projects.

Chairman of InnoCity’s Professional Council Le Viet Nguyen noted that the COVID-19 pandemic poses a danger to humanity, but also offers an opportunity for developing countries to rise up and compete fairly with countries in advanced science and technology.

InnoCity 2021 was initiated by the Union of Vietnamese Students in Europe towards the socio-economic recovery of Vietnam following the pandemic.

The programme has become a “bridge” that links supporting resources for creative innovation of Vietnamese on the global scale.
