On March 28, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Labour Newspaper, in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, launched the Green Transformation Day 2025 event series in Hanoi with the theme “Green Transformation — Joining hands for a sustainable Vietnam.”
The event aims to promote communication and raise social awareness about the role and importance of green and sustainable economic development, and at the same time call for the participation of social organisations in the green transformation.
This is also a forum for management agencies, experts, businesses, etc., to discuss, analyse and propose solutions to remove barriers for businesses, towards a green and sustainable economy.
In the context of climate change and challenges of environmental pollution, the transition to a green economy has become an urgent requirement for Vietnam’s sustainable development. Sustainable development and green growth are being chosen as models by many countries. At COP26, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh committed to the world that Vietnam will aim for Net Zero by 2050.
The Green Transformation Day 2025 event series is expected to be an important first step in raising awareness and promoting action. This will be followed by in-depth workshops taking place in March, April and May 2025 related to the following areas: green credit and green bonds, renewable energy conversion, green transport, green export, and so on.
At the events, experts, management agencies and businesses will share and propose recommendations to remove policy barriers and find solutions to promote the green transformation process in Vietnam.
Green Transformation Day will be developed towards becoming an annual programme, creating a strong influence, connecting the community, businesses and the government to join hands to act for a green future.
