According to the Chairman of Do Son District People's Committee, Tran Khac Kien, the Do Son Tourism Festival 2024 is one of the opening events of a series of local summer tourism activities and kicks off the 2024 Hoa Phuong Do (flamboyant red) Festival, on the occasion of the 69th anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day (May 13, 1955 - May 13, 2024).
With the orientation of building Do Son into a "4-season destination", the local government has made efforts to develop a variety of tourism products, such as sea-island eco-tourism, cultural-spiritual tourism, festivals, sports, conference-seminar tourism and resort tourism.

In the opening programme of the 2024 Do Son Tourism Festival, a special art program took place with the participation of many admired artists and singers such as Trong Tan, Uyen Linh, Thu An, Van Anh, Mai Thuong and Lavender Dance Troupe.

At the festival, many attractive cultural, sports and artistic activities also take place, such as street art performances on the walking route (Zone II), an Open Tourist Golf Tournament with an expected capacity of about 120 golfers at Dragon Golf Links on May 4, the Dragon Hill Food Festival with 150 food stalls and displays, and a Kite art performance festival features 50 art kites at Vung Huong tourist beach (Dragon Hill International Tourist Area).
