Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang visited, encouraged and presented Tet gifts to policy beneficiaries, poor households, workers living in difficult circumstances and armed forces in the northern port city of Hai Phong on January 22.

The Deputy PM presented 500 Tet gifts worth over 1.3 million VND to policy beneficiaries, poor households and workers living in difficult circumstances at the programme entitled “Tet sum vay – Xuan chia se” (Tet gathering – Sharing in Spring).

At the programme, Deputy PM Quang stressed Hai Phong has always been leading the country in many socio-economic development indicators.

The Deputy PM congratulated the Party Committee, authorities and people of Hai Phong City on their achievements while expressing his hope that the city will continue to uphold their solidarity and strive to maintain a high growth rate and be a bright spot in the country for social welfare.

On the occasion of the upcoming Tet (Lunar New Year) Festival, the Deputy PM extended his best wishes of good health, happiness and success to the Party Committee, authorities and people of Hai Phong City.

On the occasion of the upcoming Tet, about 350,000 trade union members and workers benefited from care activities by trade unions at all levels in the city.

On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and leaders of the High Command of Military Region 3 and the People's Committee of Hai Phong City visited officers and soldiers of the Infantry Regiment 50 (Hai Phong City Military Command), which was honoured as the Hero of the People's Armed Forces twice.
