Heat wave continues to hit North and Central regions

The North and Central regions continue to face intense heat today (June 30), with temperatures exceeding 38C in some places. It is forecast that the heat wave will swell across the midlands, Northern delta region, and central region from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen during next week.

According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, the Northern region will see the highest temperatures of 35-37C today, with some areas exceeding 37C, while the humidity is low at about 55-65%.

The region from Thanh Hoa Province to Phu Yen Province also faces a blazing hot day with highest temperatures of 36-38C, with several areas over 38C, and low humidity of 45-60%.

The heat wave is forecast to last for many days in the midlands, Northern delta and the region from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen, while the heat will gradually ease in Northern mountainous area.

Meanwhile, the Central Highlands and the South regions will continue to face rain in the afternoon and evening in the next few days. The possibility of lightning and strong gusts of wind is likely to occur during thunderstorms.
