At the press conference announcing the political-art program “To quoc trong tim”, organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper in collaboration with the Hanoi People’s Committee, the revelation that composer Nguyen Huu Vuong would serve as Music Director came as a surprise to many — as such a significant responsibility at a national concert was entrusted to a relatively young musician.
Born in 1987, Nguyen Huu Vuong has built a reputation as one of Vietnam’s most respected music directors, contributing to the sold-out success of major live shows for celebrated artists such as Tung Duong and Ha Anh Tuan. Yet, “To quoc trong tim” stands as one of the greatest challenges of his career.
The composer shared that for any live show, the first priority of a music producer is always the audience — since that determines the musical approach. “For example, when targeting young audiences, the music must be more youthful; when targeting middle-aged listeners, the music needs to carry greater depth,” he explained.
The program will take place at 8:00 pm on August 10, 2025, at My Dinh National Stadium and will be broadcast live on Ha Noi Radio and Television (Hanoi2 channel), relayed on local radio and television stations across the country, and livestreamed on the Nhan Dan Newspaper fanpage, Ha Noi International Light Festival fanpage, and various social media platforms.
“The concert ‘To quoc trong tim’ has an exceptionally wide audience, spanning across many age groups and generations. This creates a challenging equation for me in selecting songs and arrangements — especially with only a few weeks to complete a massive workload, from orchestration and recording to choir rehearsals and vocal harmonies,” Nguyen Huu Vuong revealed.
To solve this “equation,” he has curated a diverse repertoire that spans revolutionary music, timeless classics, contemporary songs, and even children’s pieces — bringing richness, variety, and vibrant colors to the program.

Furthermore, “To quoc trong tim” takes place at a time when many artistic programs praising the country are being staged nationwide, making it almost inevitable that some songs overlap in repertoire. This challenge required Nguyen Huu Vuong to find a way to bring a distinctive musical signature to this special national concert.
That is why the young composer decided to rearrange all 23 works featured in the program, instead of reusing orchestrations from past concerts. Many familiar songs have been given new arrangements shaped by a contemporary perspective — not only refreshing the works but also creating a powerful connection that resonates with today’s younger audiences.
He revealed that “Viet tiep cau chuyen hoa binh” (Continuing the story of peace) will be one of the program’s key highlights; “Len dang” will be reimagined with a strong rock spirit; and even the children’s classic “Ai yêu Bác Hồ Chí Minh hơn thiếu niên nhi đồng” (Who loves Uncle Ho Chi Minh more than children) will appear with a renewed sound. In addition, many hit songs from the participating artists will also be performed, ensuring memorable moments for fans.
Prior to “To quoc trong tim”, the 1987-born music director had already helmed numerous successful live shows, most notably for artists such as Ha Anh Tuan and Tung Duong, including “Chan troi ruc ro” (Bright horizon), “Sketch A Rose,” and “Human.”
Immediately following “To quoc trong tim”, Hữu Vượng is preparing for Ha Anh Tuan’s live concert this October at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, USA. Looking ahead, he is also set to continue his collaboration with singer Tung Duong in the artist’s annual live concert.
The political-art program “To quoc trong tim”, jointly organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper and the Hanoi People’s Committee, is presented as a gift to the people on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 – August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2025).
