That is the suggestion of Canadian travel magazine The Travel when it comes to Ho Chi Minh City. This city ranked 2nd in the list of Asia’s top 10 best street food cities.

On February 20, The Travel published an article suggesting the top 10 Asian cities that can be considered a dream for every street food lover. Six out of 10 destinations in the Southeast Asia region include Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), Bangkok (Thailand), Manila (Philippines), Singapore, Phnom Penh (Cambodia), and Penang (Malaysia).

In addition to Southeast Asia, the remaining four destinations are Hong Kong (China), Seoul (the Republic of Korea), Osaka (Japan) and New Delhi (India). Which, the Indian city of New Delhi topped the list due to its incredibly-unique street food.

According to The Travel, Asia is one of the best places to be if you like to eat, but if it's the street food that you have a particularly soft spot for, Asia is going to be one delicious ride. Hawkers sell fried snacks on the back of bicycles, stalls made of tin and plastic, grill hot kebabs at night, and entire streets are dedicated to licensed street food shops, selling everything from spicy noodles to cold milk teas. It's rare to come across a street in any Asian city that doesn't have at least one street food cart dishing out greasy local delicacies.

According to the outlet, Ho Chi Minh City ranked second on the list. “Street food is a way of life in Vietnam,” it stressed.

While most could dish out their banh mi (baguette sandwiches), chao muc (squid porridge), and xa xui (barbecued pork) out of old-fashioned restaurants, plastic chairs and tables on the streets are where locals prefer to eat their meals.
