A press conference was held by the Service Department for Diplomatic Corps under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hanoi on November 21 to provide information about the 2024 International Food Festival, which will take place at the Van Phuc Diplomatic Compound (298 Kim Ma Street, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi) from December 7-8.
The festival is an annual event designed to promote cultural and culinary exchange. It is marked by the growing participation and enthusiasm of embassies, foreign cultural centres, provincial Departments of Foreign Affairs, businesses, and units within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The event also contributes to fostering domestic and international diplomatic relations.

Speaking at the press conference, Hoang Thai Ha, Head of the Trade Union of the Service Department for Diplomatic Corps and deputy head of the organising committee of the festival, noted that since 2014, the International Food Festival has become a major international cultural, culinary and diplomatic event that has connected the international friends in Vietnam.
This year’s festival will highlight the richness and diversity of global cuisine and emphasise that food is a universal language and a place where people from different cultures find harmony. “Through each dish, we will not only share the essence of culinary flavours but also spread stories about the history, traditions, and noble values of each nation", Ha added.
Unlike previous years, the 2024 International Food Festival will showcase distinctive Vietnamese dishes, offering a unique culinary experience journey with more than 70 international food stalls from about 60 countries and territories worldwide. The event will feature elaborate food demonstrations, lively activities such as a beer festival, sponsor-sponsored games with prizes, and numerous unique experiences like the Culinary Passport, "Food on a Plate", and "Cuisine of the Five Continents".

According to culinary artisan Le Thi Thiet, the 2024 International Food Festival will not be just a "feast" of diverse cultures but also a platform that tells emotional stories through dishes from various countries and regions.
The 2024 International Food Festival is expected to be a major event, attracting many local residents and tourists to experience and enjoy the diverse culinary offerings at the end of the year.
