Ho Chi Minh City to expand its High-Tech Park

The Prime Minister has issued Decision No.1061/QD-TTg on the expansion and promulgation of the operating regulations of the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park.

Accordingly, the expanded area covers 194.84 hectares in Long Phuoc Ward, Ho Chi Minh City; it will carry out scientific research and development of high technology and strategic technology, pilot production of high-tech products and strategic technology products resulting from research and development conducted within the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park; support incubation, training, transfer and commercialisation of high technology and strategic technology, and other tasks and functions of the High-Tech Park as prescribed by law on high technology.

The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City is responsible for presiding over, directing, organising, and ensuring the balanced allocation of capital and human resources to carry out investment, construction, and development tasks, state management activities, support policies, and other tasks for the expanded Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park in accordance with the approved objectives and tasks.

It is accountable to the Government for the activities and investment efficiency of the expanded Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park; and it is responsible for the preparation, appraisal, and approval of the zoning plan, detailed plan, and determination of the boundaries and location of the expanded area, ensuring consistency with the previously stipulated location and area size.

In addition to the preferential policies and investment support stipulated in the law on high technology and other relevant laws, the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, within its authority, issues or submits to competent authorities for issuance policies, measures, and allocates resources to attract and support investment projects, high-tech activities, strategic technologies, and the development of high-quality human resources in the High-Tech Park, ensuring compliance with regulations.
