During a meeting with Karl Wilfing, President of the Lower Austrian Parliament, Toan introduced the city’s potential, key strengths, and development priorities.
Toan also proposed that Lower Austria and Hue sign a cooperation agreement covering areas such as tourism, education and training, healthcare, information technology, green urban development, smart cities, heritage conservation, high-tech agriculture, and sustainable development.
The two sides discussed the possibility of organising Hue-Krems cultural and artistic exchanges during events in both localities, with a view to deepening their mutual understanding and people-to-people ties.
The delegation subsequently held working sessions with the authorities of Krems, a city in Lower Austria.
The two sides discussed cooperation in heritage conservation and promotion, sustainable tourism development, cultural exchanges, tourism workforce training, and experience-sharing in urban management linked to heritage preservation.
Hue Chairman Toan emphasised that the former imperial capital of Hue and the historic city of Krems both boast rich histories, unique cultural identities, and valuable heritage assets.
These shared characteristics provide an important foundation for the two localities to strengthen cooperation, share experiences, leverage their respective strengths, and jointly pursue sustainable development goals.
At a working session with IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems, the two sides discussed steps to implement the letter of intent signed in April by the Hue Department of Foreign Affairs, the city of Krems, and IMC Krems.
Toan proposed expanding student and academic exchange programmes as well as developing joint education and research initiatives.
Notably, the two sides agreed to move forward with plans to organise short-term training courses in Hue aimed at strengthening the capacity of local officials in tourism management and development.
