Trang An Ninh Binh outclassed The Cong Army Corps 15 in their final game on Friday to claim the men’s championship title at this year’s tournament. The Cong Army Corps 15 ended up in second place, followed by Duc Long Gia Lai which recorded an impressive 3-0 victory against PetroVietnam in the third-place playoff earlier.
Vietinbank were crowned champions on the women’s side after beating LienVietPostBank 3-2 in the finals on March 29, leaving behind VTV Binh Dien Long An in the third position, thanks to their 3-1 win over Tien Nong Thanh Hoa in their match the following day.
The event drew the participation of eight strong teams, including the top four men’s and women’s teams in the first leg of the PV Oil 2012 National Volleyball Championships
According to the Vietnam Volleyball Federation, the second leg of the tournament will take place from November 10 to 17 in Ho Chi Minh City to decide the top eight teams that will play in the final round in Dak Lak province from November 22 to 25.
