In pictures: “Instagrammable” ocean-blue spots on Cu Lao Cham Island
Not only a UNESCO-recognised biosphere reserve, Cu Lao Cham (Hoi An) is also a paradise for sea lovers, offering countless check-in spots awash in the deep blue of the ocean.
It is easy to find beautiful photo spots in Bai Lang, the island’s main residential area.To the south of Bai Lang lies a stretch of gently sloping white sand with crystal-clear waters all year round.At sunset, vivid shades of red blending with the endless blue of the sea, creating scenes that are both romantic and captivating.Perched on a steep rocky cliff, amid the lush green of the forest and the vast ocean, the Cu Lao Cham lighthouse stands watch, quietly guiding vessels through rough waters.Visitors can travel from Bai Lang to the lighthouse in around 35-40 minutes by bike.
Artfully arranged rock outcrops near the lighthouse make perfect spots for capturing memorable photographs.Travelling along the coastal road circling the island is an unforgettable experience.The area offers not only majestic and breathtaking scenery, but also moments of relaxation as visitors immerse themselves in nature, with the vibrant blue sea on one side and pristine forest on the other.Wherever you stop along the route, you can easily capture stunning photographs.Bai Xep is widely regarded as the most beautiful beach on the island. More than ten flat stone steps lead from the road down to the white sandy beach.
Just a short swim of around 20 metres from the beach, visitors can reach small, colourful coral reefs.The area is dotted with numerous rocky outcrops, so even without entering the water, visitors can still enjoy the spectacular surroundings.Bai Xep is undoubtedly one of the must-visit destinations on Cu Lao Cham.The swing at The Coral Homestay is another popular check-in spot, where visitors can often encounter small monkeys and listen to the lively birdsong.From the white sandy stretch at Bai Lang, a narrow forest trail – steep and lined with thorny plants – leads to a large rock slab overlooking the sea, with panoramic views of the island’s central area.
Another recommended site is the perfect place to end a day on Cu Lao Cham: Hon Nhon, as locals call it, a small rocky islet about 100 metres offshore, where you can take in the full splendour of the sunset.
