Skies over Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City were illuminated with spectacular firework displays on the evening of September 2 to mark the 81st anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam (1945–2026).

Ha Noi staged 15-minute firework shows at five locations across the city to celebrate National Day.Artistic firework displays were also held from 9:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. at seven sites in Ho Chi Minh City, including three high-altitude and low-altitude launch points.A grand cultural programme was staged at Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street in Ho Chi Minh City on September 2 to mark the 81st anniversary of National Day.

A survey at several bus stations, railway stations and airports showed that passenger travel for holidays and trips home was expected to increase during the five-day National Day holiday. However, there are no signs of overcrowding or localised congestion. Railway stations, bus stations and transport operators across road, rail and air transport have assessed and forecast developments in advance, drawn up detailed plans, and mobilised vehicles and other resources to meet people’s travel demands.
