At the event, experts highlighted Indonesia as one of the most promising markets for Vietnamese products in general and food products in particular.

With a population of more than 280 million, a vast consumer market and a rapidly expanding middle class, Indonesia is experiencing growing demand for processed, convenient, healthy and naturally sourced food products.

Le Anh Hoang, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Centre, said that Viet Nam and Indonesia possess considerable advantages for further strengthening bilateral trade cooperation.

Both countries are members of ASEAN and established a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in March 2025. They also participate in numerous regional trade agreements, creating favourable conditions for the movement of goods, business connectivity, and the expansion of bilateral trade and investment.

Le Anh Hoang added that economic and trade relations between Viet Nam and Indonesia have continued to strengthen in recent years, with bilateral trade maintaining robust growth.

The increasingly close ties between the business communities of the two countries are creating new opportunities for cooperation, helping to promote stronger and more sustainable trade in the years ahead.

According to the Viet Nam Trade Office in Indonesia, the country's food and beverage (F&B) industry is forecast to generate more than 360 billion USD in revenue by 2026, creating vast market opportunities for Vietnamese agricultural products and processed foods.

Indonesia's Halal food market is particularly noteworthy, with an estimated value of 155.3 billion USD, accounting for 11.1% of the global Halal food market.

Consequently, Halal certification is not only a mandatory requirement but also a crucial competitive advantage for Vietnamese enterprises seeking to enter the Indonesian market.

The seminar was organised to help Vietnamese businesses, particularly those operating in the food and beverage sector, seize valuable opportunities to expand their exports to Indonesia.
