After breaking the world record yesterday during the heats, the Italian team clocked a blistering 3:42.032 in the gold medal race.

GB win gold in 470 class making Hannah Mills the most successful female sailor in history
Great Britain’s Hannah Mills and Eilidh McIntyre were sick with nerves ahead of the medal race in the women’s 470 class, however, they needn't have worried. With a 14-point lead it was theirs to lose and they crossed the line in fifth place to win gold across the five-leg regatta, defending Mills’ Rio 2016 title, albeit this time with new partner, McIntyre.
Mills, competing in her third Olympic Games, becomes the most successful female sailor in history. The world No. 1 claimed silver at London 2012 and won gold at Rio 2016 with Saskia Clark.
Poland, with 39-year-old Jolanta Ogar in the boat with partner Agnieszka Skrzypulec, finished in fourth place to go ahead of France to win silver, with Camille Lecointre and Aloise Retornaz claiming bronze.

Cuba's Arlen Lopez ended the Olympic dreams of Great Britain's Benjamin Whittaker when he won gold at the men's light heavy division by a split decision of 4-1.
The Cuban dominated the first two rounds and put on a masterclass to win gold whilst Whittaker settles for silver.
This is the second gold medal for the 28-year-old Cuban boxer who won gold in the middleweight division at Rio 2016.
Mathew Belcher and Will Ryan win gold for Australia in men's two person dinghy 470 race
Going into the medal race today, Australian sailors Mathew Belcher and Will Ryan already knew that gold was in the bag but that didn't stop them from performing their best and finished the race in a high note.
The Australian duo, who already had lead advantage of 20-points coming into the race, could have sat comfortably as gold was already within reach, but they showed why they are the world's best and crossed the finish line ahead of the rest with a total score of 23.
Having previously won three preliminary races, Belcher and Ryan avoided disqualification to secure themselves of the Olympic gold medal today at Enoshima Yacht Harbour.
This is the third Olympic medal for Belcher who already has a gold medal back in London 2012 with then sailing partner Malcolm Page and a silver with current partner Will Ryan at Rio 2016.
Meanwhile, Sweden's Anton Dahlberg and Fredrik Bergstrom took silver after crossing the finish line second to amass 45 points, whilst the Spanish duo Jordi Xammar and Nicolas Rodriguez Garcia-Paz picked up third place after finishing with a total score of 55 points.

Sakura Yosozumi won gold in the women's park skateboarding finals cementing Japan as a new powerhouse in the Olympic sport which made its debut at Tokyo 2020.
The 19-year-old skateboarding phenom clinched victory at Ariake Urban Sports Park after her sensational performance in Round 1 where she hit a couple of 540s and carved through the course with superb slides and grinds to score 60.09 and win the first ever gold in women's park for Japan.
This is the third gold medal for Japan in skateboarding after Yuto Horigome won gold in men's street and 13-year-old Momiji Nishiya clinched gold in women's street last week.
Youth was still the star of the show in skateboarding as 12-year-old Japanese skateboarder Kokona Hiraki took silver in women's park after scoring 59.04, just 1.05 points behind teammate Yosozumi. Hiraki is the youngest silver medallist in Olympic history.
It was in the third attempt where Sky Brown finally nailed her run with a score of 56.47 which put her back in podium position to clinch bronze.
