A ceremony was held in Ha Noi on November 11 to launch a book about the People’s Public Security force by late Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
The book, titled “Xay dung luc luong Cong an nhan dan thuc su trong sach, vung manh, vi nuoc quen than, vi dan phuc vu” (building a truly clean, strong People’s Public Security force devoted to the nation and the people), is a work of profound theoretical and practical value, reflecting General Secretary Trong’s consistent concern for ensuring national security, social order and safety, and for firmly safeguarding the Fatherland.
The 600-page publication, released by the Su that (Truth) National Political Publishing House, features 39 selected articles, speeches, letters, and directives by the late leader during different periods and in different positions he used to hold, showing his consistent theoretical mindset and strategic vision. It also includes 56 reflections from officers and soldiers across the country.
Addressing the launch, Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang said that the late General Secretary had always paid great attention and made major contributions to the safeguarding of national security and social order and safety, as well as to the building of a truly clean and strong People’s Public Security force sharing close-knit bonds with the people and the army.
General Secretary Trong often reminded officers to uphold the principles of “sacrifice for the nation, service to the people” and “as long as the Party exists, so do we”, regarding honour as the most sacred and noblest value. He also stressed President Ho Chi Minh’s teaching that the Public Security force must serve and rely on the people, while maintaining close unity with the People’s Army to form the “sword and shield” of the Party and the nation, Quang stated.
According to the minister, the book is a valuable source of reference and a lodestar for the entire People’s Public Security force to fulfil their tasks. It also serves as a guiding document for all-level authorities in directing the public security work and inspires patriotism among the public to boost community engagement in the Fatherland and security protection.
The book is divided into three parts. The first one focuses on building a strong and comprehensive People’s Public Security force absolutely loyal to the Party, State, and people. Meanwhile, the second spotlights the force's safeguarding of national security, public order, and social safety with dedication to the nation and the people. The third is on the force’s affection for the late General Secretary and its political responsibility in the new era.
The publication highlights the force’s crucial role in safeguarding and building the nation, consolidates key orientations and solutions for future development, and reflects General Secretary Trong's enduring legacy — a lasting source of inspiration for officers and soldiers to uphold the noble tradition of “sacrifice for the nation, service to the people.”
