Minister of Foreign Affairs receives non-resident Ambassador of Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal to Viet Nam

On the afternoon of December 13, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Party Central Committee member and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung received Ambassador Dhan Bahadur Oli, non-resident Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal to Viet Nam, on the occasion of the Ambassador’s visit to present his Letters of Credence.

The Minister proposed that, building on the foundation of 50 years of good traditional friendship between the two countries, the two sides further strengthen close coordination, tap potential and advantages, and bring cooperation in various fields to greater depth and substance.

The Minister suggested that the Ambassador enhance connections among ministries, sectors, enterprises and associations of the two countries; soon organise a consultation mechanism between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs; establish cooperative relations between the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and encourage airlines to open direct flights or convenient connecting flights between the two countries.

Ambassador Dhan Bahadur Oli emphasised that Nepal’s leadership highly values relations with Viet Nam and wishes to learn from Viet Nam’s experience and models of socio-economic development and international integration. The Ambassador affirmed that he would develop concrete plans to promote bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, energy, science and technology, culture, tourism, education and training, while also strengthening people-to-people exchanges between Viet Nam and Nepal.
