Party General Secretary To Lam’s freshly-ended state visit to Laos marked a historic milestone and opened up a new chapter in the Viet Nam–Laos relationship, according to Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung.

Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chief of the Party Central Committee Office, has been assigned as Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son highlighted Vietnam’s readiness to further contribute to United Nations peacekeeping operations, while meeting visiting UN Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix in Hanoi on November 25.
