The event was attended by Chairwoman of National Assembly (NA) Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan; former Presidents Nguyen Minh Triet and Truong Tan Sang; Politburo member and Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Dinh La Thang; former Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Le Thanh Hai; Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh; and former Vice President Truong My Hoa.
Covering an area of 127.5 square metres in My Quoi Commune, the memorial house was built with a total investment of VND1.5 billion.
It includes an altar for the worship of President Ho Chi Minh and a display of photos of the leaders of the Soc Trang Province Party Committee over the generations and revolutionary soldiers in My Quoi, as well as photos and artefacts related to Comrade Hue’s family and activities.
Addressing the ceremony, NA Chairwoman Ngan emphasised that the memorial house is expected to contribute to educating younger generations in the revolutionary tradition and patriotism.
Born in My Quoi, Comrade Hue voluntarily engaged in the resistance war, becoming a loyal Party member who devoted her life to the national construction and defence.
She was appointed to important positions in Party committees in Tra Vinh, Can Tho, Hau Giang and Vinh Long and central agencies.
On behalf of Party and State, Chairwoman Ngan presented 200 gifts to poor students who had overcome all difficulties to make outstanding achievements in their studies, as well as twenty gifts to Heroic Vietnamese Mothers and policy beneficiary families in My Quoi.
