Nam Dinh begins construction of backbone road for marine economic development

The People’s Committee of Nam Dinh Province held a ground-breaking ceremony for the second phase of a backbone road connecting Nam Dinh’s marine economic zone with the Cau Gie-Ninh Binh Expressway on April 25.

The construction project has received total investment of over 5.32 trillion VND, with the first phase (from 2017-2021) worth 2.83 trillion VND and the second phase (from 2022-2025) worth 2.48 trillion VND.

The 46km road goes through 16 communes in districts of Y Yen and Nghia Hung. The road begins from the Cao Bo intersection (the intersection of Cau Gie-Ninh Binh Expressway and National Highway 10) and ends at Rang Dong Industrial Park in Phuc Thang Commune, Nghia Hung District.

A bridge spanning the Dao River measuring 12m in width and 761m in length will be built as part of the road.

Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony, Chairman of Nam Dinh Provincial People's Committee Pham Dinh Nghi affirmed that the road is of special importance to removing bottlenecks in road traffic and connecting the province's arterial roads.

Upon its completion, the road will connect the province's marine economic zone with the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh Expressway and other economic and political centres in the region as well as connecting with national highways 10, 37B, 37C, 21B, and coastal roads.
