National Mechanics Olympiad winners honoured in Hanoi

Nhan Dan Online - The 396 winners of the 2013 National Mechanics Olympiad were honoured in Hanoi yesterday at a ceremony jointly held by Ministry of Education and Training, Vietnam Mechanics Association and the Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

The annual contest aims to promote studying movements among students nationwide while providing a good opportunity to discover and nurture those who have aptitude for mechanics.

The 25th Olympiad this year saw competition from more than 1,000 contestants representing 33 universities and colleges from across the country, including 18 in the north, 13 in the south and two in the central region.

Specifically, there were 15 first, 40 second and 73 third prizes presented at the ceremony alongside 233 consolation and 35 teams awards.

According to the organisers, the 26th Olympiad will be held next year at Military Technical Academy in Hanoi, Da Nang University of Science and Technology in central coastal Da Nang City and Cuu Long University in southern Vinh Long province.
