Nhan Dan, Granma newspapers boost ties

A delegation from Nhan Dan (People) newspaper, led by Deputy Editor-in-Chief Phan Huy Hien, visited Cuba from October 12-18 under the co-operation programme between the Nhan Dan and Granma newspapers, both the voices of their countries’ respective Communist Parties.

At the working session with the Editorial Board of Granma newspaper, led by Editor-in-chief P. Cuervo, the two sides expressed their appreciation for their co-operation and expressed their wish to strengthen their co-operation in exchanging and disseminating information on the achievements in national renewal and on both countries’ present socio-economic situations.

They also agreed to continue working together in the time ahead, including the exchange of working delegations and the support given by Granma to Nhan Dan in preparation for the launch of its Spanish language version online.

The Vietnamese delegation was also received by the Head of the Cuban Communist Party Central Committee’s Ideology Department G. Suarez and the Deputy Head of the Cuban Communist Party International Relations Department H. Aguilera, who both reaffirmed the close relationship that exists between the Vietnamese and Cuban Parties and States.

The Cuban officials affirmed their wishes to further strengthen their economic-trade co-operation with Vietnam in order to fully utilise the two countries’ potential and traditional relations.

Deputy Editor-in-chief Phan Huy Hien affirmed that the Vietnamese Government and people support and send faithful sentiments to Cuba in its course of protecting its gained revolutionary fruits and in the process of updating its economic model.

The Vietnam-Cuba traditional friendship is an invaluable asset that needs to be continuously fostered and consolidated by the two peoples, especially in younger generations, he added.

During their stay in Cuba, the Nhan Dan delegation also had an exchange with the Cuban Journalists' Association and Cuba-Vietnam Friendship Association, and visited a number of economic and cultural establishments in La Habana capital and Cien Fuegos province.
