Specifically, NFC tags are placed at Hai Phong Museum, Hai Phong Railway Station and Nghe Temple.
Visitors can tap their smartphone against these tags to get stories, photos, videos or 3D models of the place they are visiting, as well as tourism information about the nearby areas.
Through these interactive points, visitors can experience historical and cultural sites in an entirely new way that is livelier and more intuitive.
Vu Pham Thu Trang, a resident of Hai Phong’s Le Chan District, said the NFC signs are very useful, helping her learn more about the places she visited.
The NFC tag installation project is being implemented by Nhan Dan Newspaper to connect historical and cultural sites in 63 provinces and centrally-governed cities nationwide.
It not only helps advertise Vietnamese tourism but also promotes digital transformation in heritage management, bringing heritage sites closer to the public.
Before Hai Phong, NFC-enabled signs were installed at cultural and historical sites in Ninh Binh, Thai Binh, Thanh Hoa and Vinh Long.
