On July 16, the Vietnam Tourism Association (VITA), in collaboration with the Embassy of Viet Nam in the Republic of Korea, held the inauguration ceremony for the Viet Nam Tourism Promotion Office located in Seoul, the capital of the Republic of Korea.

This event marks an important strategic step, demonstrating the Viet Nam Tourism Association's strong commitment to intensifying tourism promotion efforts, aiming for higher growth from the Republic of Korea — currently one of Viet Nam's leading international tourist markets.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vu The Binh, President of the Vietnam Tourism Association, affirmed that the Republic of Korea is a key market for Viet Nam’s tourism industry. The establishment of the Viet Nam Tourism Promotion Office in the Republic of Korea holds special significance in attracting tourists to Viet Nam as well as supporting outbound tourism for Vietnamese travellers.

Vu Ho, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, highly praised the Vietnam Tourism Association’s efforts in establishing the Viet Nam Tourism Promotion Office in the Republic of Korea. He expressed confidence that the office would enhance tourism connectivity between the two countries; support tourism businesses from both sides in exchanging visitors and exploring business cooperation opportunities; and further deepen the relationship between the two nations.

That same day, the Vietnam Tourism Association held a business-to-business (B2B) meeting between representatives of Vietnamese localities and businesses with 65 Korean travel agencies and 13 Korean media outlets.

The association also organised a roadshow, providing Vietnamese businesses and promotion agencies the opportunity to present detailed information and images of Viet Nam’s destinations and unique tourism products.

At the event, several cooperation agreements were signed between Vietnamese and Korean tourism enterprises. Additionally, there were commitments for collaborative activities between local tourism associations in Viet Nam and tourism associations and businesses in the Republic of Korea.

Viet Nam has become a favourite destination for Korean tourists in Southeast Asia thanks to its diverse natural landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and convenient travel distance. Many places in Viet Nam have become familiar destinations for Korean visitors and are frequently chosen by Korean celebrities for visits or as filming locations for television programmes.

With these advantages, the Viet Nam Tourism Promotion Office in the Republic of Korea will strive to promote and support appropriate promotional activities in the Republic of Korea for Vietnamese tourism businesses, helping further increase the number of Korean tourists to Viet Nam while facilitating easier travel for Vietnamese visitors to the Republic of Korea.
