The structure was built on an area of 1,170 hectares in Khuon Diem Village, Kim Quang Commune, Yen Son District, where the newspaper’s editorial board members lived and worked from September 1953 to July 1954.

During that period, Nhan Dan Newspaper was published periodically to report on domestic and international events.

The newspaper carried the voice of the Party and Government to the officials, Party members and soldiers nationwide, helping to take the resistance war against the French to victory.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Nhan Dan’s Editor-in-chief Le Quoc Minh affirmed that the stele pavilion is a site for education about the tradition of the Vietnamese press and a tribute to the previous generations of journalists.

For her part, Tuyen Quang Deputy Secretary Le Thi Kim Dung said the relic site of Nhan Dan Newspaper would deepen the value of the Kim Quan revolutionary base, which hosted President Ho Chi Minh, General Secretary Truong Chinh and several Party and Government agencies during the war.

On the occasion, Nhan Dan Newspaper and PetroVietnam presented ten houses to Tuyen Quang Province, while the newspaper’s labour union presented gifts to disadvantaged students in Kim Quan Commune.
