Speaking at the ceremony, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper Thuan Huu congratulated Nhan Dan TV Channel on the occasion its 5th anniversary.
The Editor-in-Chief, who is also a member of the Party Central Committee (PCC), the deputy head of the PCC’s Communications and Education Commission and the chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association, spoke highly of the efforts made by Nhan Dan TV Channel’s staff in overcoming initial difficulties and gradually affirming its position as one the nation’s seven essential TV channels, broadcasting 24 hours a day.
He also urged Nhan Dan TV to continue to conduct more in-depth and timely reports, disseminate Party guidelines and State policies among people from all walks of life, as well as providing product analyses and commentaries on socio-economic and political events to direct public opinion and better serve the needs of the people.
Editor-in-Chief Thuan Huu also expressed his belief that Nhan Dan TV, despite the considerable challenges ahead, would soon secure an important position amongst domestic viewers, while at the same time helping Nhan Dan Newspaper to become a more comprehensive multimedia editorial office.
On this occasion, under the authorisation of the Prime Minister, Editor-in-Chief Thuan Huu awarded the Prime Minister’s Certificate of Merit for Nhan Dan TV Channel for its outstanding contributions to press activities over the past year.
Nhan Dan Television channel officially started broadcasting on September 1, 2015, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, following a trial phase broadcasting on domestic cable networks since June of the same year.
The channel is broadcasting 24 hours a day on VTV, Hanoicab, MyTV, VTC, HTV, and SCTV cable systems.
