The plant, located in the remote communes of Khau Vai, Lung Pu, Son Vi and Can Chu Phin in Meo Vac district, was completed after three years of construction began. It has two turbines with a combined capacity to generate 110 megawatts and has been connected to the national grid. It will provide an annual electricity output of around 500 million kWh, which will contribute to local socio-economic development and improve living conditions for local residents.
* Construction of the Nho Que 2 hydropower plant in Can Chu Phin and Xin Cai communes, Meo Vac district, started the same day.
The plant is designed for two turbines with a combined capacity of 48 megawatts to generate an annual power output of 225 million kWh. The project, funded by the BITEXCO group with a total investment of VND1,400 billion (US$67.2 million), is scheduled to be completed in 2014.
