Vietnam–Romania bilateral trade cooperation boosted

Through the Vietnam’s Business Opportunities Day 2025, Romanian enterprises had the opportunity to update themselves on Vietnam’s economic policies and market conditions, explore bilateral cooperation prospects, and establish business connections—contributing to the promotion of economic cooperation, particularly in bilateral trade and investment between Vietnam and Romania.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Romania, in coordination with the Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIB), organised the Vietnam’s Business Opportunities Day 2025 on April 24.

The event attracted numerous participants, including representatives of Romanian government agencies, the Vietnamese Business Association in Romania, FPT’s office in Romania, and many Romanian partners and businesses interested in the Vietnamese market and labour force.

In his remarks, Ambassador Do Duc Thanh emphasised that Vietnam’s Business Opportunities Day 2025 was one of the meaningful activities commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam–Romania diplomatic relations (February 3, 1950 – 2025).

The event provided Romanian enterprises with updated information on Vietnam’s economic policies and market environment, as well as opportunities for cooperation and enterprise-to-enterprise connections.

It also aimed to enhance economic cooperation, particularly in trade, investment, and labour, and to accelerate the realisation of the target of reaching 1 billion USD in bilateral trade turnover, as agreed during Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s official visit to Romania in January 2024.

Highlighting the significance of the event, Iuliu Stocklosa, President of the CCIB, stated that Vietnam’s Business Opportunities Day 2025 demonstrated the close cooperation between the Vietnamese Embassy and the CCIB. It also reflected the synergy between Vietnam’s efforts to promote trade and investment and the charmber’s business connectivity support programmes.

Commending the positive growth of Vietnam–Romania bilateral trade, Stocklosa noted that although trade between the two countries reached 533 million USD in 2024, this figure does not yet fully reflect the potential for collaboration, and there remains considerable room for growth in the near future.

To further promote bilateral trade, Stocklosa affirmed that the CCIB will continue to accompany the business communities of both countries in exploring opportunities for cooperation, connection, and future development.

At the event, participants focused on two key topics: “Opportunities for cooperation in economics and trade” and “Cooperation in the Labour Sector.” Delegates shared a wealth of information, practical experiences, and diverse perspectives on cooperative activities between the two countries.

They also praised the efforts of the Vietnamese Embassy in Romania in establishing an effective and substantive networking platform for the business communities of both countries, affirming that Vietnam and Romania have great potential and opportunities for future cooperation.
