Recently, the Viet Nam Securities Depository and Clearing Corporation (VSDC) reported that the Viet Nam stock market registered an additional 190,852 new trading accounts in May.
In the past month, domestic individual investors opened 190,634 new trading accounts, bringing the total number of accounts for this group to over 10,004,372, accounting for 99.3% of the entire market.
The number of accounts held by domestic institutional investors also saw an increase of 44 accounts in May, reaching a total of 18,173 accounts.
In May, the number of newly opened securities trading accounts for foreign individual investors increased by 186 accounts to 43,738 accounts, while foreign institutional investors closed 12 accounts, bringing the total to 4,669 accounts.
