In July alone, about 388,000 tourists visited Hanoi, an increase of 4% over the previous month and 52.6% over the corresponding period last year.
The city received approximately 235,000 foreign visitors in July, up 4.8% over the previous month and 2.2 times higher than the same period last year. During the seven-month period, an estimated 1.68 million foreign tourists visited Hanoi, 4.9 times higher than the same period in 2022.
Hanoi saw its largest number of visitors from the Republic of Korea with 244,500 visitors in seven months, 3.2 times higher than the same period last year. This was followed by China with 144,900 visitors, 6.8 times higher than the same period in 2022.
During the January-July period, Hanoi also welcomed 135,200 visitors from the US, 5.5 times higher than the same period last year and 106,400 visitors from Japan, 3.3 times higher than the corresponding period in 2022. The city also received increasing numbers of visitors from the markets of France, the UK, Thailand, Germany, Malaysia, and Singapore.
About 925,000 domestic visitors also came to Hanoi in the first seven months of this year, a sharp increase of 14.5% over the same period last year.
