Thang urged the university to intensify efforts to realise set targets, saying that it should quickly work out a road map and build a project to put itself on the list of top 500 international universities while raising specific suggestions to the municipal authority for prompt supports.

In the near future, the university should turn into a business management model to enhance autonomy in many areas, Thang suggested.

Regarding training orientations, he encouraged the university to promote its brand name and focus on developing nine vocational categories which the city has aimed to boost. He also asked the university to work with institutes, scientific research centres and businesses, and foster start-up activities for students.

Established in 1997, the Ton Duc Thang University has made many achievements in developing human resources through building international standards in scientific studies and renewing curriculums to move closer to the world’s education standards.
