The event was jointly organised by the Malaysian Embassy in Vietnam, Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), and the Hang Luong education consulting company.

As part of a series of education exhibition events in Vietnam, Study in Malaysia Education Fair 2024 aims to continue spreading information about the education system and learning opportunities in Malaysia, while establishing and strengthening relationships between relevant schools and agencies of the two countries.

According to EMGS, more than 200,000 international students from around the world have been participating in undergraduate and graduate education in Malaysia since 2019. Vietnam is among the top three Southeast Asian countries with the largest number of students in Malaysia.

Speaking at the event, Malaysian Ambassador to Vietnam Dato' Tan Yang Thai said: “The number of Vietnam’s applications to study in Malaysia has skyrocketed after two years of cooperation and promotion efforts. An increasing number of Vietnamese students are seeking study opportunities and participating in exchange programmes in Malaysia, reflecting the growing mutual understanding among countries in ASEAN. As the chair of ASEAN in 2025, I hope to see further cooperation between Malaysia and Vietnam, which have maintained diplomatic relations for more than 50 years.”

The education fair is scheduled to take place in Can Tho on April 24.
