Earlier, on February 14, along with 62 other cities in 34 countries, Son La City and Ho Chi Minh City were honoured to be enrolled by UNESCO in the Global Network of Learning Cities (GNLC). This event provides the pride and motivation for Son La Province to focus on solutions to maintain the criteria following the honour.

On the occasion, Son La City held an inauguration ceremony for Chieng Le Kindergarten with a total investment of 6.9 billion VND.
Son La City has also coordinated with the Son La Provincial Department of Education and Training to launch the Centre for Inclusive Education Development Support and the "Intelligence House" model; build Chieng Den Commune Kindergarten; and repair the schools under the 2024 public investment plan in the city.
