The ceremony took place in a joyful atmosphere celebrating the successful conclusion of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, the 12th National Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, and the State visit to Laos by Party General Secretary To Lam and a high-level Vietnamese delegation.
Highly commending the teachers’ sense of responsibility, dedication and perseverance in overcoming numerous difficulties, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam noted that many teachers have long been stationed in remote and mountainous areas, integrating into local communities and sharing hardships with host-country educational institutions.
According to the Ambassador, the commendation of Vietnamese-language teachers in Laos comes at a time when the Ministry of Education and Training of Viet Nam and the Ministry of Education and Sports of Laos have just completed the five-year mid-term review of the project on “Enhancing the quality and effectiveness of Viet Nam–Laos cooperation in education and human resource development for the 2021–2030 period”.
On this occasion, the Ambassador also highlighted the significance and importance of strategic connectivity in human resource development, particularly the strengthening of Vietnamese-language teaching in Laos and Lao-language teaching in Viet Nam.
On behalf of the teachers receiving the Certificates of Merit, teacher Dang Van Tu expressed his sincere thanks to the Minister of Education and Training of Viet Nam for the recognition and awards, and his deep appreciation to Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam for his consistent material and moral support, as well as timely encouragement throughout their service.
Emphasising that this marked the first time Vietnamese-language teachers in Laos have been commended by the Minister of Education and Training and personally presented with awards by the Ambassador, Dang Van Tu described the occasion as a great honour and a strong source of motivation for teachers to continue contributing to the education sector in particular and to the special Viet Nam–Laos relationship in general.
