This was one of the highlights organised within the framework of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, with the aim of preserving the Vietnamese language and promoting Vietnamese culture to international friends.
The event featured the participation of the Cay Tre Community Vietnamese Language School, the Vietnam Pavilion, more than 35 pupils and teachers, as well as experts and international guests.
Speaking at the programme, Do Lan Phuong, Director of the Viet Nam Pavilion, said this is not only a chance to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, but also an opportunity to connect the community, preserve Vietnamese, and introduce our culture to international friends, especially within the framework of Expo 2025.

The programme offered participants memorable experiences, including an impressive lion dance performance; a presentation and interactive session on the traditional Klong-put musical instrument by artist Bao Chau; and a Vietnamese water puppet show by artist Ngoc Triu, among others.
The exchange entitled “Learning and Loving Vietnamese Together” featured contributions from Le Thuong, President of the Kansai Vietnamese Association and Principal of the Cay Tre Community Vietnamese Language School; Professor Shimizu Masaaki of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Osaka University; along with representatives of the US Pavilion and the Canada Pavilion.

Professor Shimizu Masaaki said that Vietnamese not only a language, but also a cultural bridge between the Vietnamese community and the wider world. Learning and preserving Vietnamese abroad helps the younger generation take pride in their roots and contributes to building the image of a culturally rich Viet Nam.
