The festival attracted thousands of Japanese visitors and overseas Vietnamese living in the Kansai region. It served as a platform to promote Viet Nam’s tourist destinations and foster cooperation between Saigontourist, Vietnam Airlines and Japanese localities (Osaka, Nagoya, Tokyo), as well as connect investors and partners.

Approximately 60 booths were set up at the event, with the participation of 15 member units of the Saigontourist Group. The festival also featured more than 30 traditional Vietnamese dishes, prepared by members of the overseas Vietnamese community and various Vietnamese associations in Japan.

As part of the Saigontourist Group - Vietnam Food Culture Festival, the Consulate General of Viet Nam in Osaka, in collaboration with the Vietnamese community association in Kansai, carried out various practical activities including consular consultations, citizen support, and the promotion of Viet Nam’s image to the Japanese public and overseas Vietnamese in the region.

Booth No. 15, managed directly by the Consulate General, welcomed hundreds of overseas Vietnamese seeking advice on procedures related to passports, birth registration, marriage, nationality, personal documents, and other consular services.

“Every day, we receive hundreds of phone calls regarding consular procedures. Providing on-site consultations at the event allows people to access accurate and comprehensive information, reducing misunderstandings and saving time and travel effort,” said Nguyen Hai Yen, Head of the Consular Department at the Consulate General of Viet Nam in Osaka.

Also within the framework of the festival, the Vietnamese Language School “Cay Tre” – a community-based educational model founded by devoted members of the overseas Vietnamese community in Kansai – offered gifts such as books, badges, and colouring pencils to children attending the event.

Le Thuong, Principal of the Cay Tre School and President of the Vietnamese General Association in Kansai, shared: “This is a wonderful opportunity for children to immerse themselves in the homeland’s atmosphere, to use Vietnamese naturally and proudly. We deeply believe that language is the soul of culture, and that the younger generation is the bridge to the future.”

The Consulate General of Viet Nam in Osaka announced that it will continue promoting mobile consular services, citizenship days, and close coordination with schools, community organisations and local authorities to improve service quality and enhance the effectiveness of person-to-person diplomacy.
