This statement was made by Vietnamese Ambassador to Poland Ha Hoang Hai at the international conference “International Students in Poland 2026”, held on January 28–29 at Jagiellonian University in Krakow.
The conference is an annual event under the Study in Poland programme by Poland’s Perspektywy Education Foundation, which aims to promote the internationalisation of Polish higher education, attract and support international students, and facilitate the exchange of policies, experiences, and new trends in academic cooperation.
In the session discussing prospects for Viet Nam–Poland cooperation, Ambassador Ha Hoang Hai affirmed that Poland is a traditional education partner of Viet Nam.
He noted that many Vietnamese alumni who graduated from Poland now hold important positions and maintain strong affection for Poland and its people. At present, nearly 1,000 Vietnamese students are studying in Poland, continuing the tradition of previous generations, he added.
The Ambassador expressed his hope that the amended Education Cooperation Agreement would be signed soon, providing a legal basis for even closer cooperation.
Dr Lukasz Golota, Deputy Director of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange, shared positive impressions of Viet Nam, its people, and the Vietnamese community in Poland, as well as the cooperation potential between the two countries. He voiced his hope that collaboration would expand not only in education but also in scientific research and the commercialisation of research products.
During the working trip, Ambassador Ha Hoang Hai met with representatives of the Vietnamese community in Krakow, where he expressed appreciation for their patriotism, unity, and sense of responsibility.
On the occasion, the diplomat extended New Year greetings and encouraged the community to continue integrating into local society in the host country while maintaining close ties with the Fatherland.
